When was the last time you were able to find your center or true north? Ever wonder about all that drama that constantly seems to keep you off center and ruin your concentration on your true goals? Some technology, is helpful to our accomplishments while others are merely there to distract us and cause anxiety.
Many an advanced civilization has been lost to technology because it was supposed to be a tool and not meant to enslave the masses. Only problem is that people started to forget how to do things without technology. The biggest problem was there wasn’t enough written documentation on how they rose to their greatness; so it could be recreated in the event of a catastrophe. What was written was either looted or destroyed by those that came after them.
Everytime the people have been plunged into the dark ages trying to rebuild and teach the next generation the tools they need to succeed. There are numerous examples across the globe of those civilizations as they migrated from continent to continent. Once again, our time period is starting to encounter some of those problems. People becoming to reliant on technology and forgetting how to do the most basic things or how to work without electricity.
When we become too reliant on technology, we set ourselves up for failure. Especially, when people from previous generations are no longer around to teach those skills. Instead of embracing our independence, we are constantly becoming more co-dependent on people and things around us. It leaves us more vulnerable to crisis situations and stress. Instead of empowering us, it’s putting us at the mercy of others; who might not have our best interests at heart.
Interesting how in the 21st century, we should be embracing changes that help us grow and empower us. Instead we’re allowing people to manipulate and control us. We’re giving away our freedoms and independence bit by bit until we don’t even know how we got here any more.
