Shiny Objects

There are many things that I’ve noticed in the Corporate arena and Government. The constant need to chase shiny. Instead of them looking at the resources they currently have and finding out all the capabilities that their existing system have. They assume that because its old that it has no value any more. The thing is that most of the life is still not even tapped out of their older systems. They just don’t understand how to use it and have not asked their programmers how to get more out of it. In some cases they refuse to pay those that actually do know how to use it.

They’ve slipped into this mold of lazy by trying to pay the least and assuming that because its new it can do more. This is not necessarily the truth. These tools are actually designed for small business and the home user. Just because your comfortable with a tool doesn’t mean it’s the best tool for the job. Lets say, you like a hammer. You love your hammer, it allows you to hang up pictures and put a nail through a 2 x 4 piece of wood. Unfortunately a hammer can’t be used well as a screw driver.

Another word, I’d like to bitch slap some people for is using the word Intuitive.  A fucking computer is not intuitive. The damn thing is programmed, without programming it doesn’t work. The thing is either user-friendly or not.  If it’s geek friendly, it’s not necessarily user-friendly or even tested properly to make sure it actually works. When people get done with being lazy and cheap or greedy; we might actually start to make progress.

Most of these systems aren’t made for large types of storage; or made to withstand certain conditions. Solar storms that might erase your data because of magnetic pulse. Paperless environments, that’s its own form of hell. Why? Because, if you should lose that data where else is it stored? Oh yah! It’s on the Cloud! Sounds all futurie! Cool! What happens if that gets hacked or it crashes. Power outage, Power surges. What happens if we get a magnetic storm and it affects your so-called cloud. There went your data or it got hit by tornado or flood.

Those are just lovely natural disasters that can make your life hell. In order to make informed decisions and be able to grow; you need to understand existing systems and build on that. You might be surprised that the people who designed them weren’t cave people and they designed them to evolve with the company. A lot of people have no clue that a lot of the systems were designed for the military.

When we throw away technology, we are going backwards. Why backwards? The next generation instead of building on that knowledge now has no idea how it works or how to fix it. Then they make up dumb ass shit of who created it and what it was used for. Sound familiar, think about the pyramids. No one in their right mind hauled all that stone to build that shit.

The biggest problem with shiny is that it’s costing us a small fortune in chasing this and that. It creates this mind-set that nothing is ever enough including ourselves. In the end we all lose out as a society.

Judicial System

Our Judicial system is outdated, it’s like something out of the stone age. Where women and children and animals rights are a mockery. The sentences for crimes against these demographics are a complete joke.

Rape is looked upon as a complete joke and the victim is re-victimized by the very people who are supposed to protect that persons rights. Raping of children in certain states is a 2 weeks probation are you kidding me. The problem is obvious! The court systems view women, children and animals as having little to no value.

The laws that are still on the books are from the 1800’s to the 1930’s. No one has taken the time to review them and say these laws are wrong and need to be removed. No one has updated them to meet the current needs of the people. In criminal justice the law that is argued is black and white justice. No I’m not referring to race but you will soon see that it almost feels like that. In business law the law can be reasonably argued. In criminal justice it isn’t that way. There is no shades of grey that can be argued in that kind of law.

The fact is that we live in a society where life is anything but black and white it is very much shades of grey. It is very obvious that our society is a patriarchal society and very much against  women and children an anything that will upset that status quo apple cart.

There is talk about equality but it never goes further than talk. Women are paid less than men for the same work. They are talked down too as though they have the IQ of zero. The belittling behaviour of this legal system is antiquated that it belongs to the time period of the stone age.

This judicial system looks upon women, children and animal as property. Very much like an indentured servant. These justices are very much part of the problem in our society. The congress voting on women’s rights is also archaic. What the hell, we as women should start voting your reproductive rights and your body. I think even then you still wouldn’t get it. There just isn’t intelligent thought in a cave man or an outdated legal system or outdated Gov’t.
