Forced Sabatical

If your currently able to work from home, then you might be going a little stir crazy or actually enjoying the experience. If your able to get out because your an essential person because of your career or work. You might not be feeling it quite so bad. The good thing is if you handy. The bigger hardware stores might be open because they sell things similar to essential products that allowed them to stay open. Yay for your sanity! While your getting those essential products, I’m sure those stores aren’t going to mind if you pick up lumber and other things that will help them and you not completely lose your mind.

Win, win you get a project completed on your house or around it and you and your spouse or significant other aren’t about to lose it. If you have board games it will allow you to work off some energy with your family as you get some family or just connection time with roommates and such. If you love to paint or write or watch movies. It will allow you to embrace your creativity. If you are a musician, you can write songs or get more practice in.

This time will allow you time to think if your feeling challenged in your current job or career choice. If you have a small business, maybe it’s allowing you to restock your business. For those that are in restuarant type businesses, it will allow you to explore those apps that would allow you to get your business to be take out or delivery to generate more income in this forced shut down.  If your a bakery, just by adding additional packaging it will allow your to move more product and similar to the restaurant, maybe you can do take out or delivery.

Now is the time to either watch some exercise streaming on your computer to get your routine in or if you have weights at home use them in your exercise plan. Soft Jazz or other music that helps you mellow out right now might help with the stress. Number one thing is to not watch the news or any other drama. Unless the radio only has music, your probably not going to want to listen to any of it’s news drama either.

The last thing you need right now is drama! If your thinking of starting a garden, this will help to work of any excess energy. Make a list of some of the things you wanted to do that day. If you have young children, you can find some ways that they can help you around the house. Maybe it’s a small dusting project. This way if it’s not done quite right it’s not going to be that big of a deal. Baking is always fun for kids, if it’s cookies or just stirring a bowl.

Meal times can be fun, if they just need to wash something just put the water in a bowl. My thinking is that you don’t want them any where near the sprayer un less you want a water fight. Story time is good for the children, either you can read to them or you can pick a book that is appropriate and each family member can read a little part of the book a loud.

Pull out those VHS or DVD’s or stream a movie that will help keep you entertained. We are almost through this mess. Need help doing the laundry, you can make a game out of separating the laundry if you have kids. The teens won’t go for this quite as much as the younger kids. Teens can help out with the laundry or cooking or baking. Each family member can pick a different part of the meal their responsible for?

So try to enjoy your staycation,

Valentine’s Day Preparations

One of my favorite things is getting ready for Valentine’s Day. It is a private day for just me! I think up what I want to do for that day. It might be having a movie day with great food  or reading a great book and having beautiful music playing. I love picking out flowers to have in my own personal bouquet.

This year I decided to bake some of my favorites instead of buying chocolates. I did pick some pretty great movies that I’d been wanting to see so I could have my own personal movie marathon. It was a delight to eat and watch movies and enjoying my flowers. The cats got to have some fun with the fabric ribbon.

Every year is different. It is a celebration of me and what my desires are for that day. Sometimes it’s about the flowers, other times it’s about the books that I’ve wanted to read that are my favorite authors or new authors that give me a new perspective on how delicious life is!

Maybe next year it will be all about the best bath salts? One can never tell, just so long as it is passionate and fun!
