Talking Back

Over the years, I’ve found it very funny how many people don’t realize that they’ve gone into voice mail. They start to talk about things that they don’t want others to know about. It’s like they’re at the confessional! The recorded conversations are not small by any means either. Some of these conversations have been over 30 minutes on a voice mail.

Technology has taken the place of children. Parents used to watch what they said in front of children so that it wouldn’t be repeated and come back to haunt them later on. The voice mail and cell phones have gotten more people into trouble with their friends or family. Those rants that are only meant for our own ears in moments of frustration are becoming more public when your least paying attention.

I recently had a long-standing question answered for me. A relative that is always complaining about their lack of good relationships. Recently had a rant come back to bite them in the butt. They weren’t at their best, they were very frustrated. What they said out loud was pretty bad. They didn’t know that the person heard them say those hurtful things. They apologized but not before the damage had been done.

Since, I had experienced this person talking about me behind my back. I had confronted them at the time which was pretty easy since I had over 30 minutes on my voice mail. I found it funny, since I know it’s very hard for this person to eat crow. I’m not in any way condoning the behavior but it explained the lack of true friends and family connections.

So before going on a rant, you might want to make sure technology is off before continuing. Have a happy day : )
